The Bermuda Dance CompanyThe Bermuda Dance Company, our island’s first professional touring dance company, was founded in January 2000 with the express purpose of becoming a world-class, internationally recognised dance company. Derived from the African word meaning “drum,” Gombey also incorporates Native American and British colonial influences of the New World. You may see Gombey events and performances throughout the year. The dancers traditionally wind through our streets on special holidays such as Boxing Day and New Year's Day.
