This is a competition open to all. It will have two divisions, Professional and Home. The Professional category will be for all chefs and cooks presently working for or associated with a restaurant or hotel on the island, or now retired or not presently working. The Home category will be for all home cooks; it will exclude professional chefs now retired or presently not working.
The professionals will compete for the Gosling’s Cup and the home cooks for the Outerbridge’s Cup. The trophies have been designed by Waterford Crystal and will be engraved with the names of the winners annually, and displayed prominently in downtown Hamilton for all to see who has the island’s best chowder!
The finals cook-off will be held as a part of the Bermuda Gourmet Getaway on October 28th and 29th. It will be limited to the top four contestants in each category. There will be preliminary competitions to narrow the fields.
